If you are a blogger and you aren’t taking advantage of keyword research and simple on page blog post optimization to grow your blog – you are missing the boat big time right now! Can you grow your blog without keyword research and search engine optimization? Of course. But why not learn to do some simple keyword research and a few easy optimization techniques to keep that targeted traffic flowing to your blog month after month after month.

I’ve actually written quite a bit on this site, in the past, about using keyword research for blogging. I’ve been using these techniques and tactics myself and seeing positive results. I have a background in both blogging and building niche sites – so I understand the power of utilizing good keyword research and optimization techniques quite well. In this post, I am actually going to bring together everything I’ve written in the past and create kind of an ultimate guide to using keyword research to grow your blog. I also want to explain why I believe that bloggers should be using keyword research for their own advantage – now more so than ever before!

Plus – to keep it interesting, I’ve actually reached out to several others in the internet marketing space who I know have extensive experience with keyword research. I wanted to get their thoughts on using keyword research for blogging. A few of them are big names that you will recognize, and a few you might not recognize. How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog – Proof that Keyword Research Works

This is kind of an interesting post that I’ve been thinking about writing for quite some time. I actually have some proof that the keyword research for blogging strategies that I talk about for how to drive traffic to your blog really do work! Although I didn’t do it on purpose, a perfect opportunity presented itself when I didn’t publish any new content on this site for an entire month. I published a post on May 6th of this year, and then didn’t publish the next one until June 7th. The funny thing is that I did something almost identical on my old money blog almost exactly a year ago. I stopped publishing over there to concentrate my efforts over here on my new blog. I just took a look at my Google Analytics account for each site and compared some statistics. The differences for similar time periods are kind of astounding. Admittedly, I knew nothing about keyword research or SEO when I was trying to grow my old money blog. I did do everything else I could think of to try to drive traffic to that blog. Want to know how to increase traffic to your blog – specifically to your older blog posts? Does the following statement sound like something you could say?

I have a blog with a ton of old content on it that never seems to get viewed anymore. When I first published many of these posts, the reaction was great. I got a whole bunch of comments and engagement from readers and fellow bloggers. After just a few short weeks, or even days, the number of page views for these posts dropped dramatically to almost zero. It’s a little bit frustrating because I spent so much time writing these articles. Some of them are really great and are the type of content that could benefit readers for years to come. I wish there was an easy way to attract new readers to my blog and back to some of my older articles.

There definitely are several different ways. Since this is a passive income blog (I’m assuming you want to make income with your blog), I’m going to focus on what you can do to your blog posts just one time in order to attract and keep traffic flowing to them in a passive manner.

Most of these sites are blogs, and I just can’t get over how overlooked and under-used this entire concept of keyword research for blogging is. It has become my new obsession to get the word out to the blogging community. My mission is to show bloggers how they could and should be taking advantage of some pretty simple tactics to drive as much search traffic to their sites as possible.

You just never know which random searcher is going to land on your blog, like it, subscribe to it, share it, and keep coming back for more. There are certain numbers of people searching for different search terms on Google every single month. By knowing how to properly do keyword research and how to use those keywords to best optimize your blog posts, you can get as many of these searchers as possible to land on your blog. The beauty of growing your blog or website through search engine optimization is that you don’t get the same people coming back time and time again. Different people throughout the entire world will be typing in the search terms that you are optimizing for and at different times. The growth potential is endless if you properly optimize a post on your site for a low competition keyword that gets lots of searches!

The importance of using keyword research to optimize your blog posts is vastly overlooked and undervalued in the wide world of blogging. I would dare say that most bloggers don’t even know what keyword research is. How can they possibly know how to use it to optimize their blog posts if they don’t know what it is? One very basic function of keyword research is to find out how often a certain search term is being searched for in the search engines (with Google being by far the most popular). You can then use that information to optimize your blog post by determining exactly what to write about and how to word it within the post.
